Political education has always had a special place in the history of Islamic thought, and Muslim scholars have considered it a link between moral excellence, social awakening, and reform of the power structure. In this regard, the role of Sayyid Jamaluddin Asadabadi, as one of the pioneers of the Islamic Awakening Movement and the fight against colonialism, is doubly important because he understood politics from the perspective of Sharia and in connection with the education and reform of the Islamic Ummah. Based on this, the present study was conducted with the aim of explaining the foundations and components of political education in the thought and practice of Sayyid Jamaluddin Asadabadi, and its main question is: What are the foundations and components of political education in Sayyid Jamaluddin's thought and behavior? The research hypothesis is that political education in Seyyed Jamal al-Din’s intellectual system is based on monotheistic ontology, divine epistemology, and dignity-oriented anthropology; and components such as political awareness, political piety, independence, freedom, and rereading of history are considered tools for awakening the Islamic nation and fighting colonialism and tyranny. The findings show that in his thought, education precedes politics and is a condition for a politician to enter the field of political action. The concept of “the merciful, wise government” also establishes a close link between politics and education. The research results show that spiritual education is rooted in the essence of politics and political awakening is a prelude to conscious activism and the revival of Islamic society. Also, political piety and rereading of history, due to their educational function, lay the foundation for the new authority of Islamic societies. The research method is qualitative and based on inferential analysis, and the data were extracted from the behavior, works, and texts attributed to Seyyed Jamal al-Din.
